Someone raised this boy the right way!

When Cody Mitschelen, of Oakldale, California, wanted to take his girlfriend Audrey Fierro on a date, he realized he didn't have the money to give her the date he wanted to. Did he ask for his parents to bail him out? Did he settle for a mediocre date instead? Nope.

He went to work mowing lawns.

At just 14 years old, Cody understood that to have nice things in life, you have to work for them. He walked the sidewalk and asked residents if he could mow their lawn for $5. According to the Star-Telgram, he had a tough customer in Ryan Cox who first said "no" to the request. After hearing that it was chivalry that was driving Cody to work so hard, Ryan changed his mind. He even set him up with a few other jobs and even suggested he buy Audrey flowers.

Do we still believe that chivalry is dead? I don't.

When Cody and Audrey made it to their date destination, the pizza place actually gave them everything for free because they had heard about his story. I guess that means he can take Audrey out a second time.

You can see some photos of the happy couple here.
