2016 UAHT Academic All-Star Named at Annual ACC Conference

The 2016 UofA Hope-Texarkana Academic All-Star Award was presented to Hannah Kincheloe of Stephens, AR, on Tuesday, October 11 at the Annual Arkansas Community College’s Conference in Hot Springs, Arkansas.  The purpose of this program is to recognize the scholarly and service achievements of Arkansas’ two-year college students.  Each All-Star will receive a $500 scholarship for his/her final semester at their college of attendance.

 Kincheloe is an active member of Phi Theta Kappa, where she served as Vice President of Service in the 2015-2016 academic year.  She is also on the Chancellor’s Honor Roll and has received several privately funded scholarships provided by the UofA Hope-Texarkana Foundation. She has also completed extensive volunteer work for the Hempstead County Relay for Life campaign where she has raised over $1,000 for the American Cancer Society.

Kincheloe’s future plans include opening a neonatal intensive care unit within the Southwest Arkansas region through available grant opportunities.  She stated, “Living in Southwest Arkansas, I have observed the lack of healthcare services, particularly related to premature births. My degree in Medical Office Management will provide the necessary knowledge in budgeting and office management in order to gain employment at a medical facility: ideally a hospital.”  She continued, “I will also graduate with a Technical Certificate in Accounting when I receive my Medical Office Management degree. Immediately thereafter, I plan to pursue a Bachelor's of Applied Science and eventually a Master's degree with a healthcare emphasis. With that degree and various certifications in subjects such as perinatal care and grant writing, I intend to make this intensive care unit a reality.”
