The 2017 Annual Walk to End Alzheimer's Texarkana is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 23, at Spring Lake Park at 10AM.

This is the second year of this walk in Texarkana and organizers are hoping for a better turn out than last year. Taylor Hall who is from Texarkana and is a student at Southern Arkansas University decided she wanted to get involved in the walk because she lost her grandfather to Alzheimer's disease. She is asking our community along with businesses to assemble a team to be a part of this special walk to bring awareness to this epidemic that is affecting lives all across America.

Alzheimer's disease is the 6th leading cause of death in the United States, more than 5 millions Americans are living with Alzheimer's. One and three Seniors dies with the disease and every 66 seconds someone in the U.S. develops the disease.

So please sign up today for the Walk to End Alzheimer's online at their website.  You can also register at the event at Spring Lake Park on Sept. 23, beginning at 8:30AM with the walk starting at 10AM.
