Every state is known for its own virtues and vices. But harmful behavior on the individual level can result in staggering economic costs, considering that gambling addiction costs the U.S. $5 billion per year and smoking costs dwarf that with over $300 billion per year.
The personal-finance website WalletHub today released its report on 2018’s Most Sinful States and the state of Arkansas made the list.

To determine where the U.S. has the most moral growing to do, WalletHub compared the 50 states based on seven sinful behaviors: anger and hatred, jealousy, excesses and vices, greed, lust, vanity and laziness.

  • 3rd for Anger and Hatred
  • 4th in Lust and Laziness
  • 5th for Excessive and Vice
  • 17th for Greed
  • 23rd for Jealousy

Whatever the stats say you can take it as you see but I'm proud to be from Arkansas and that's never going to change. It's a beautiful state for which I sometimes think gets a bad rap or stereotyped. I say to those people, come visit Arkansas because there are some good people who live in this state.
