The 3rd Annual Fall “Gathering of Authors” Event will be Sat. Nov. 3 from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. at Texas High School Cafeteria. A kickoff St. Jude Charity Dinner is scheduled for Friday, November 2, 7 p.m. at the Texas High School Cafeteria.Cost is $25 at the door. Speaking will be Marc Pittman and Pam Kumpe along with special guest Cancer survivor Jonathan Jones who was treated by St. Jude 28 years ago when he was ten years old.

This year’s Fall "Gathering of Authors" event will be even bigger than last year with more than 30 authors attending. Many of the authors will be from a distance away and ready to meet new readers from the area. There will also be several special guests who are being treated by St. Jude. The “Kid’s Korner” will be in full force with many volunteers to keep the kids entertained by reading to them and doing arts & crafts throughout the day. There will also be face painting. With the opportunity to win many door prizes given out continuously starting at 10:30 am, tickets will be sold to raise even more for St. Jude. They will be 6/$5 or if you buy $20 worth of tickets you get a FREE event bag. It will come in handy when you buy the many books from such talented writers. All of this money goes to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Venders will be there such as the Baptist Book store which is one of the biggest sponsors as well as jewelry venders and more. FREE food and drinks for everyone.

KIDS AUTHORS - The kids who entered our 2012 writing contest 3 – 8th grades, will be there to autograph a book called DREAM CATCHERS published by Topaz Publishing. It is an actual published book put out to raise money for St. Jude. It is almost 200 pages and full of nothing but stories kids have written. It’s “Kids helping Kids” through literacy.
