It was officially announced today that the 2016 Cattle Baron's Ball "Stateline Stampede" will be scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 29 at the Texarkana Convention Center. This will mark the fourth year for this prestigious event that will benefit the American Cancer Society.

The month of September and October will be designated Cattle Baron's Season said Crystal Phiffer Prince, Community Manager with the American Cancer Society.

"In addition to the Cattle Baron's Ball there will two other events in September and October leading up to the main event. 'Couture For a Cure' will be held on Thursday, September 22, from 5:30-8:30PM at the Texarkana, Texas Convention Center, which will showcase a high-energy business after-hours fashion show. You'll see the latest fashion designs available from our local and surrounding boutiques and hors d'oeuvres will be served," she said.

Then on Saturday, October 1, beginning at noon, it's the first ever "Cattlemen For a Cure" at J&J Livestock. This will be a cattle auction with 100 percent of the sales going toward pediatric cancer research. Crockers Jewelers is also having a benefit fundraiser with "Shopping for a Cure" on October 13, from 1-6:30PM with a portion of sales going to the American Cancer Society.

And finally, for the grand finale on the evening of October 29, the Cattle Baron's Ball announced that the winner of the CBS Grammy Gig of a Lifetime and NBC's The Voice Top 4 Finalist Barrett Baber will be the entertainment for the evening. Baber, who was coached by Blake Shelton in Season 9, went on to land a record deal and recently opened up for Rascal Flatts. He is ready to bring his unique, soulful country sound to Texarkana.

With a commanding performance and high-energy show, Baber is a superstar on the rise. As a matter of fact, Blake Shelton says "Barrett sounds like no one else on country radio. He can be a superstar in country music."
