The 5th Annual Jeans & Bling will be great fun for all at 7 p.m. on Saturday, October 11 at Ramage Farms. A $50 ticket will provide a full evening with food and drinks from 11 popular restaurants, Live Music by Split Decision and guest artist Stoney Musgrove, voting for the Dance Competition, a Silent Auction, photo booth and more! Guests will enjoy lots of fun while supporting an important, local cause—building a “Hospice Home” in Texarkana.

Jeans & Bling 2014 will be bigger and blingier than ever before! Because of the popularity of the $50 ticket price for a cause everyone wants to support, the walls of Ramage Farms will be expanded. This year tents will flank the dance floor along with added tables and chairs so guests can visit while eating and listening to the talented band Split Decision. Guests will also enjoy photo booth fun, door prizes, the Dance Competition, a Silent Raffle and the $20 Pick Your Paradise Raffle Drawing.

Boots On

The eight couple Dance Competition is unique to Jeans & Bling and is the centerpiece of the evening. At 8 p.m., area couples will perform a Swing and a Two-Step for the audience who will vote for their favorite couple by placing donations in their jar. The local couples dress-up and have fun showing off their skills. This year’s winners will be featured on next year’s poster and tickets. Our 2013 winners were Keith and Nikki Laing and they are the artwork on this year’s poster.

Live Bands

Split Decision will headline the event and they have invited Stoney Musgrove to join them this year. Stoney is a singer/multi-instrumentalist from Cunningham, Texas, who has been singing for two decades. His ability to sing country standards, classic rock, Top 40 pop and play several instruments make him an in-demand artist! Split Decision is known for playing rhythm and blues, pop and country and is made up of: Bryan and Selena Jefferies, Jeff Tucker and Kevin Preston.

The high energy event will also feature the Pick Your Paradise Raffle drawing. You do not have to be present to win one of three exciting prizes which will be awarded and tickets are only $20.

Prize choices:

  • “A Hunter’s Paradise” in Colorado which is a guided Bull Elk Hunt at Stover Elk Spring Ranch during October, 2015—a $4,000 value from Stover Outdoors.
  • “Taste Paradise” which is a “Large” Big Green Egg and Nest compliments of Red River Lumber Co.—a $925 value.
  • “Tropical Paradise” in Panama City Beach with a private condo for six nights. The four bedroom, four bath condo with two living rooms and kitchens is on the beach and has a private pool—a $3,000 value provided by Team Texarkana Real Estate.

Brent and Cindy Ramage host the event because of the care his father received from the organization. Since 2010, the agency has profited more than $175,000 from the annual event. Event tickets are $50. Both event and raffle tickets may be purchased at HospiceofTexarkana.org, by calling (903) 794-4263 or you can come by 803 Spruce St., Texarkana, Texas any weekday or buy at the door on October 11.

I too had a personal experience. I always knew that Hospice did a great job but most recently, I learned first hand what a wonderful organization Hospice really is.  I just recently lost my mother-in-law and Hospice was there every step of the way making sure that she had the proper care and comfort in her final days. The nurses were very caring, nurturing, and compassionate to not only the patient in need but to my wife and entire family. There are not enough words to say, thanks for making things a little easier during a difficult time.

I'm honored that Hospice has invited me to emcee some of the events again this year and look forward to seeing everyone for a very special evening.

From the beginning, Jeans & Bling has benefitted the community-based, non-profit agency Hospice of Texarkana, Inc. The profits have been earmarked to build the Hospice Inpatient Care Center and event supporters will literally see their donations at work as the area’s first, freestanding Hospice Inpatient Care Center is built over the next 15 months in Texarkana, Texas. We broke ground on this much needed service on September 2 and the nearest “Hospice Home” is 60-miles away.
