There is nothing like taking a road trip through the state of Arkansas this time of year and seeing all the changing colors of the leaves. But what's even better is staying in a cabin and not just any cabin a very unique cabin. In Arkansas there are several cabins that offer a very unique stay you will never forget.

Let's take a look at a few of my personal favorites.

This is great place to stay in Northwest Arkansas in Johnson, Ark. located between Springdale and Fayetteville. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, Johnson Mill is an 1835 mill that has 8 specialty suites and 46 spacious guests rooms. This award- winning inn has been recently renovated and houses a world renown restaurant that serves up some tasty gourmet dishes from their culinary chefs. This is a beautiful place to stay for a romantic weekend getaway any time of the year.

If you want more of a sense of camping out Diamond John's is the perfect family getaway. Located in Murfreesboro, Ark. near the diamond mine, there are 4 teepees situated along the Little Missouri River. The teepees hold up to four people and have queen-size beds for comfort during your stay. There are also regular cabins available at the site as well if you elect not to stay in a teepee.

What would be cooler than staying the night in an old real live caboose? Located in historic Eureka Springs, Ark., these one of a kind cabooses have been transformed into cute small rooms. You have access to a private driveway, a hot tub and deck with a grill for cooking out. There are several themed cabooses like the Victorian, Old West and Country cabooses that will leave a lasting impression on any stay.

Located in Prim, Ark., between Heber Springs and Mountain View this place is incredible. Could this be where Arkansas got its slogan "The Natural State?" These cabins were built around the natural surroundings of the great outdoors. With plenty of trees on the side of a mountain, surrounding stream and a waterfall you can view from your room, you will get totally immersed in mother nature with your stay here. Let's just say if you want to get away from it all and relax this is the place.

Have you ever wanted to stay in a cave? Well, The Beckham Creek Lodge  can make that dream come true. Located in Parthenon in Northwest Arkansas this cave dwelling would even make Fred Flinstone smile. The lodge has natural living cave walls and ceilings in this mountainside retreat with all the luxuries of a hotel five bedrooms, kitchen, honeymoon suite and rec room with satellite television. This is unlike any man cave you ever stayed in before.

Heaven on earth best describes these rustic cabins surrounded by the natural beauty of the Ozark mountain forests. With high vaulted ceilings, huge picture window, a cozy fireplace and wrap around deck, this all makes for a view to remember. Not to mention their heart shaped Jacuzzi. Need I say more.
