Everybody loves a great rodeo. The University of Arkansas Cossatot is hosting the 6th annual National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association (NIRA) April 28-30, 2016 at the Four States Fairgrounds at 7:30PM.

More than 350 college athletes representing over 13 colleges and universities from the Ozark Region of the NIRA will be competing for points and prizes. The UAC Rodeo is one of 10 NIRA Ozark Region rodeos. The men will be competing in bull riding, calf roping, steer wrestling, bareback riding, and saddle bronc riding. The women will compete in barrel racing, breakaway roping, and goat tying with men and women competing in team roping.

The students will be vying for points for their chance to compete at the College National Finals Rodeo (CNFR) held in Casper, WY in June. After the 10 Southern Region Rodeos come to an end, the top three contestants in each event go onto the finals to compete for a National title.
