It's that time of year again, time for the 73rd Annual Four States Fair & Rodeo Parade in downtown Texarkana this Saturday, Sept. 9, 2017 at 10AM.

I don't care if you're young or old, no matter what age, everyone loves a parade. For me, it's always the marching bands and the floats that I look forward to seeing. However, there's always plenty more to see including the antique cars, Shriners miniature cars, and of course the horses, I mean what would a parade be without the horses. Maybe a little less smelly?

About The Fair

The Four States Fair was founded in 1945, however, there are records dating back to the first rodeo being held in 1940. In the fair office, a brochure is on on display that someone donated to the fair listing the second annual rodeo in 1941.

In 1945, the Annual Four States Fair and Rodeo’s charter was established. A parade was held downtown to kick off the fair, and the grounds were built at what is now known as Spring Lake Park. During the 1970s-1980s the Four States Fair originally was located at the Spring Lake Park where we now have the baseball complex.

The Four States Fair and Rodeo eventually moved to its new home on the Arkansas side adjacent to Bobby Ferguson Park, where it remains today.

Be sure and look for the Kicker crew in the parade!  Listen to Kicker 102.5 all this week to win Demolition Derby and Rodeo tickets to the Four States Fair. Make sure to come out to the Starz Youth Talent Finals on Thursday, Sept. 14, on the outdoor stage as Kicker 102.5 will be hosting again this year.
