When you do something nice for someone else, you never know what can come from it.

According to the Morris-Herald News, two high school students in Dwight, Illinois helped out a homeless man during a blizzard. Ryan Kodat and Luke Arnold saw him walking in the freezing cold.

Of course, they helped him out.

They gave him some extra clothes, a jacket, and money for a train ticket when he told them that he was trying to get to Springfield to see his dad. A beautiful gesture that our world so desperately needs to see more of. Fast forward to about a month ago, when the superintendent of Dwight High School received a letter from the homeless man. Turns out he is no longer homeless.

He's a millionaire.

The man, whose name is Wade Herter, inherited $1.2 million after his father passed away. As a thank you to Ryan and Luke, he donated $10,000 to the high school they attended. He also did it in memory of his father. With that money, the school is going to set up a humanitarian award for their students. They can nominate each other for their acts of kindness and win $500.

This is the ultimate form of "paying it forward."
