Are "likes" on Facebook just not enough for you? What if you got a hug every time someone liked your picture or status update?

Well, looks like a hug could be in your future. Melissa Kit Chow from MIT Media Lab invented the Like-A-Hug vest for an art project. The vest is hooked up to your Facebook account.

The vest inflates when friends 'Like' a photo, video, or status update on the wearer's wall, thereby allowing us to feel the warmth, encouragement, support, or love that we feel when we receive hugs. Hugs can also be sent back to the original sender by squeezing the vest and deflating it.

The vest is just a Prototype right now, but it's been getting a lot of attention. Do people really need that much validation from others?

Hey, don't get me wrong, I like "likes" on Facebook just as much as anyone else but this is getting a little ridiculous!
