After a Brief Break the American Country Countdown Awards are Back

We missed them in 2015, but hopefully the American Country Countdown Awards are here to stay.

Remember in 2014 when we witnessed the first-ever American Country Countdown Awards? Although we're not sure what happened in 2015, one this is for sure... they did not happen. However, the awards are back in 2016 and hopefully will be back for good.

The show will air on Fox on May 1.

According to The Boot, the award show took the place of the American Country Awards. These aired every year since 2010. The American Country Countdown Awards made its debut in 2014 but took a short hiatus in 2015. Last year, a rundown of the top 10 moments in country music for the year was aired in place of the awards show.

No host or hosts have been announced, nor has a list of performers for the night, but we're sure those items will be revealed in due time.
