The Texas A&M-Texarkana Super Lecture Series continues this week.

Dr. Godpower Okereke, professor of Sociology and Criminal Justice at Texas A&M University-Texarkana, will present a Super Lecture titled “The Economic Opportunities Debate: What Makes Sense and What Doesn’t” this Thursday, March 3, at 9AM. in the University Center.

“The presentation will focus on income and wealth inequality in America and comparable countries,” said Dr. Okereke, who earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Sociology from Oklahoma State University and master’s and bachelor’s degrees in Criminal Justice from the University of Central Oklahoma.
Dr. Okereke’s research interests include globalization, the global economy, economic development, political economy, violence against women, governance, global poverty and inequality, crime and punishment, incarceration and crimes against humanity. His works have been published in numerous professional publications.
The Super Lecture is hosted by the Program for Learning and Community Engagement (PLACE), a faculty-led program designed to create a community of learners comprising A&M-Texarkana students, faculty, staff and the community at large.
The lecture is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.
