Katelyn Sloan of Texarkana, Arkansas, has been named coordinator of the Texas A&M University-Texarkana Community College Transfer Center.

Previously, she served as director of Student Relations at the University of Arkansas Community College at Hope-Texarkana. She also served as the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service 4-H youth development agent in Gregg County and as an Extension communications assistant at Texas A&M AgriLife Communications. In her role with A&M-Texarkana, Sloan serves as the liaison between community college transfer students and the University to ensure a smooth transition. Her office is located in the Palmer Memorial Library on the Texarkana College campus in Texarkana, Texas.

Sloan has a bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Leadership and Development from Texas A&M University and is pursuing a master’s degree in Adult and Higher Education at A&M-Texarkana. She and her husband, Nathan, train hunting retrievers and are involved in the local agricultural community.

“We are so excited to have Katelyn on the A&M-Texarkana Enrollment Services team,” said Director of Admissions Toney Favors. “Her experience in working with community college students will be a tremendous asset to the university and to the communities we serve.”

Sloan said she looks forward to working with community college transfer students in the region and helping them transition to A&M-Texarkana.

“I am thrilled about the opportunities we have to showcase A&M-Texarkana to transfer students,” Sloan said. “I look forward to getting to know our future students and helping them achieve their academic and personal goals.”
