A&M-Texarkana to Host Red River Navigation Presentation

The event will be held  on Thursday, Jan. 21, at 2PM  in University Center 210 on the A&M-Texarkana campus.

John M. Stone, CCIM, CPM, CIPS, of Dallas and Texarkana, Texas, will lead a discussion on the logistics plan for the Red River and its economic development and impact on the region.

Panelists will include Richard Brontoli of Shreveport, Louisiana, executive director of the Red River Valley Association of Shreveport; William D. Blaydes of Dallas, Texas, real estate investment counselor and broker; and Peter Craig of Marshall, Texas, longtime Realtor, real estate developer and east Texas soccer referee.

Stone is chairman of John M. Stone Company, John M. Stone Management Corporation, Stone Financial Corporation, and Stone Equities Corporation of Dallas, Texas, and Texarkana, Texas. These firms handle brokerage, leasing and consulting services; property management and leasing services; mortgage loan brokerage; and small group partnership administration.

Licensed in Texas, Arkansas and Louisiana as a real estate broker, Stone holds a Master of Business Administration specializing in commercial-investment real estate from Southern Methodist University’s Edwin L. Cox School of Business in Dallas, Texas, where he was a member of Beta Gamma Sigma and earned a Certificate in Real Estate.

Stone served as president of the CCIM Institute in 1991 and as an instructor in its education program from 1978-1998. He founded CCIM’s International Department and helped found its Legislative Department. He is the 2001 recipient of the Distinguished Service Award from the Texas Association of Realtors and has been honored by CCIM and the National Association of Realtors.

“We are delighted to have this distinguished panel on campus to visit with our students and community partners about the Red River Navigation System’s logistics plan and its economic impact on the region,” said Dr. Gary Stading, dean of the College of Business at A&M-Texarkana. “Supply chain management is extremely important to the four-state region, and we hope to increase awareness about career opportunities in the field and about our new degree in Supply Chain Management that will be offered, beginning fall 2016.”
