The final night of  The Texaco Country Showdown took place last night. The finalists performed for the top spot to move on to the state level. Talk about talent!

The five finalists from Monday night's competition all played on the Outdoor Stage at the fair grounds.  Vying for the win were: Jason Helms Band, Lauren Marie Presley, Driven, Jessi Mansfield and the Jamie Klutts Band. All I can say is ... I'm glad I wasn't a judge! All contestants did a fantastic job and I wish all of them could advance to the next level.

Congratulations to Jason Helms Band for winning the Texaco Country Showdown! They will perform at the Arkansas State Fair in Little Rock October 21. The winner of that competition will then get the shot at $100,000 at the national finals Nashville, TN!

Driven took home the first runner-up title. Which means,  if for some reason, the Jason Helms Band can't perform at next month's competition, Driven will have the chance to compete.

Congratulations to all the performers! You are all winners in my eyes!
