Are daytime Soaps being phased out?

ABC has decidedly canceled two popular soaps...One Life to Live and All My Children. AMC will go off the air in September and OLTL only has until January 2012. Are daytime soaps a dying entertainment? I guess with reality shows packing the drama, we don't need a made up story line anymore! I have to admit I used to be an avid Days of our Lives watcher but when Marlena got possessed by the devil I was done. I haven't watched it or any daytime soaps since. I am a reality show junkie though. How do you feel about these two soaps being canceled?
