Are White Lies Acceptable?

Is it ever ok to tell a white lie? Today on Facebook, one of my friends posed that question -

Is it ever ok to tell a white lie?"

For me, if it is going to hurt someone's feelings, I will either not say anything at all or I will try to find a positive way to say it instead. But, of course, I have told my share of white lies. What do you think? Is it ever ok? Take my poll below.
