I like putting a smile on my listeners’ faces as they drive home, so I keep things upbeat, funny and informative, whether I’m telling you about different events in our community, introducing a great concert, or hosting a charity fundraiser. It’s gratifying being able to touch people with something I say on air or do at an event. In my spare time I enjoy the outdoors, traveling, movies, football and grilling out. Radio has changed a lot since I began working weekends on KOSY 790 AM when I was 16 years old, but it has been very good to me and it is something I’ve wanted to do since I was a little boy. I’m just blessed I’ve been able to do it all these years.

Texarkana College Dean Offers Unique Music Lessons Beginning Jan. 31

The ukulele garnered nation-wide interest recently as a 12-year-old ukulele player was chosen as the winner of America’s Got Talent in 2016. As interest in the unique four-stringed instrument peaks, Dr. Catherine Howard, Texarkana College’s Dean of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math), is sharing her ukulele skills with the community in a fun, noncredit class offered through TC’s Community & Business Education Center.

University Health Services provides medical care to students, faculty and staff of Southern Arkansas University. The facility is open Monday-Friday, 7:30AM -5PM, and gives students the resources they need to treat immediate health care concerns.  Though most services are basically free, small cash fees are charged for certain tests, said Cami Riggins, RN.
