I like putting a smile on my listeners’ faces as they drive home, so I keep things upbeat, funny and informative, whether I’m telling you about different events in our community, introducing a great concert, or hosting a charity fundraiser. It’s gratifying being able to touch people with something I say on air or do at an event. In my spare time I enjoy the outdoors, traveling, movies, football and grilling out. I love just chilling out with my wife, kids or my three beautiful grandchildren who call me Papa G. Radio has changed a lot since I began working weekends on KOSY 790 AM when I was 16 years old, but it has been very good to me and it is something I’ve wanted to do since I was a little boy. I’m just blessed I’ve been able to do it all these years.

Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood to be Inducted Into Walk of Fame

The Nashville Convention and Visitors Corp in Tennessee announced August 11 that award-winning recording artists Trisha Yearwood and Garth Brooks will receive the 64th and 65th stars on the Music City Walk of Fame in an induction ceremony on September 10 at 2PM.

Last Weekend to Stuff The Bus for United Way of Greater Texarkana

As many of you know, the Stuff The Bus supply drive and fundraising event kicked off last Saturday. The United Way of Greater Texarkana said it was thrilled to have had a vast group of volunteers at each of their locations, and are beyond thankful for all of those who participated. Bear Creek Trail at Daisy State Park to Close Soon for Major Repairs

The Arkansas State Parks trail crew is set to begin work on the two and a half miles of the Bear Creek Trail within Daisy State Park on August 17. And this work will require the temporary closure of the first six-mile portion of the trail, according to Park Superintendent Tamara Lunsford.
