Just when you thought Syfy Original Movies couldn’t get any weirder, we present to you Dead 7. On its surface, it’s just your normal, cheapo movie from the creators of Sharknado about zombies in a post-apocalyptic western town. Except this movie stars members of Backstreet Boys, NSYNC, 98 Degrees and O-Town.

Backstreet’s back alright, and they’ve brought some of their old 90s friends with them. Dead 7 was directed by former Backstreet Boy Nick Carter, who cast bandmates AJ McLean and Howie Dorough, plus NSYNC’s Joey Fatone and Chris Kirkpatrick, 98 Degrees’ Jeff Timmons, and the entirety of O-Town (Erik-Michael Estrada, Jacob Underwood, Trevor Penick, and Dan Miller).

Before you ask YES OF COURSE they recorded a song for the movie.

As for the movie itself, it’s like if The Hateful Eight had both zombies and Joey Fatone in it and was directed by one of the Backstreet Boys and had the budget of Sharknado. I guess I’m surprised the audience that was excited for a 90s boy band reunion was also into weird post-apocalyptic western zombie movies, but hey, who am I to question the viability of such an endeavor.

Dead 7 premieres on Syfy on April 1 at 8 pm, and that’s no joke.
