The baseball Hogs, ranked 4th in the country and off to one of the best starts in school history, shook off a sluggish performance Friday night to take Saturday and Sunday's games against the Bulldogs in Starkville.

The Hogs won easily on Saturday, 8-0, but it took 11 innings before they were able to pull away from the Bulldogs yesterday, winning 8-5. Texarkana's own Bo Bigham started the rally in the 11th with a lead off double then scored the go ahead run off a hit from Pinch hitter Joe Serrano. Bigham struggled last week going 4-10 overall, but is still one of the teams best hitters.

The Arkansas defense turned the team’s first triple play since the 1998 season on Sunday against Mississippi State. The triple play was just the third in program history and the first since the 1998 SEC Tournament when Arkansas had a triple play against Auburn. The Razorbacks also had a triple play in the 1983 Southwest Conference Tournament against Texas.

Up next, the Hogs will travel to Baton Rouge to take on the 11th ranked Tigers in a three game series this weekend. All three games will be televised.

Go Hogs!
