How would you describe yourself to someone who can't see you? You have to watch this very telling video.

Why do we, as women, see ourselves based only on our flaws?

My husband took this pic of me a few months ago. Guess what I said when he showed it to me (and what I say about almost every pic he takes of me)...I pointed out every single flaw in my face ("Oh, I'm getting wrinkles (insert one of many places here)", "my face is so FLUFFY (my word for fuller)", "I'm not wearing makeup", "my hair was messed up"). Am I the only one that does that?

The real question is, why do we do that?

We can blame the media for putting out airbrushed, perfect pictures of women, making us try to live up to impossible standards or we can just say THIS IS WHO I AM. I'm working on that journey for sure. I've gained 40 pounds in the last 3 years and I am not happy about it. I try to fool myself into saying "I want to lose for my health", but part of it is that old brain washing that "Thin is Beautiful".

At some point, we all have to stand up and say "This is how God made me, and I'm beautiful just the way I am." Who's with me???

I would love for you to share your thoughts on this. Please leave me a comment below.

Hope you have a wonderful day.
Kendra
