The 2015 Defenders of Liberty Airshow is taking place this weekend May 2-3 at Barksdale Air Force Base in Bossier City, LA.Yesterday, (4/30) Jim Weaver and I had the opportunity to meet some of the pilots from the U.S. Navy Blue Angels who will be the featured attraction at this year's airshow. We were allowed access to the flight line on the airfield as the Blue Angels arrived for their performance this weekend. After a short flyover, the angels landed and I had the chance to talk with native Texan Major Dusty Cook.

Here's the interview.

Besides watching the world famous U.S. Navy Blue Angels, see the championship skydiving team Golden Knights, flyovers from a MiG-17, Quick Silver P-51, B-52, and an the A-268 Invader “Lady Liberty.” Witness aerobatic aerial displays from Rob Holland, Micheal Gouliam, Jeremy Holt, Kevin Coleman, Dave Leedom, and an appearance from Shockwave, the world’s fastest jet semi truck and many more.

This historical event first took place in 1933 at Barksdale and it gives aviation enthusiasts a chance to experience historical aircraft on display and the latest state-of-the-art jets and inventions.
