It's that time of year (well as soon as the rain stops) to get outside enjoy the fresh air and get a little exercise, too. We have some wonderful areas to take a walk, jog or ride your bike.

These are in no particular order. I suggest checking them all out.

Spring Lake Park - Usually this is a busy park with baseball games, the Splash Pad and of course, the lake. When you come here be sure to bring some treats for the ducks and geese.

Bringle Lake Park - Whether you like to walk or ride your bike on pavement or on a trail it's here. Be aware that there are signs in areas close to the lake that say beware of gators.

Bobby Ferguson Park - This is always a nice area for a lunch time walk. Oh, and bring food for the ducks.

Nix Creek- This is a great walking trail on the Arkansas side that starts at Jeffurson Dog Park at 1520 East 12th Street and goes all the way up to Arkansas Boulevard. It's a good two-and-half mile trail that has just been approved to be extended in the future.

But, the very best place to take a walk is ... your neighborhood. Get outside and get to know your neighbors. You'll be amazed at the people you will meet by just walking in your own neighborhood.
