At the end of the Aaron’s 499 it was Brad Keselowski taking his #2 Miller Lite Dodge to victory lane, marking the first time a Dodge was in victory lane at Talladege in since Dave Marcis 36 years ago in 1976.

This is Keselowski’s second win of the 2012 season, and the 6th of his Sprint Cup career.

It was Keselowski for the win, Kyle Busch finished in second, Matt Kenseth finished third, Kasey Kahne in fourth and Sprint Cup points leader Greg Biffle in fifth.

A big story this weekend was Kurt Busch. Kurt doesn’t have a sponsor, and barely a ride at all.  This weekend he decided to run the “Ricky Bobby” scheme of the Cougar on the hood, and the theme of racing for me.  The thing is, instead of endearing Kurt to the NASCAR world, I think we just lost a little more respect for Ricky Bobby.

One of the biggest story coming out of Talladega this weekend was the Nationwide Series Aaron’s 312 that ran on Saturday.  With three laps to go, there was a major wreck involving a number of cars, but it was a most violent crash for Eric McClure, who ended up having to be cut from what was left of his car.  He was taken to the hospital and kept for observation.

Next up, it’s The Track Too Tough To Tame, with the Bojangles 500 at Darlington Raceway.  Interesting note, Darlington opened in 1950 and was NASCARS first paved super speedway.

Points going into Darlington…
