How bad do you want to break a bad habit? Do you want to stop over eating? Stop smoking? Help is just an electric shock away. Yes, you read that right.

It's a device called Pavlok. It may look like a Fitbit, but instead of it politely counting your steps for you, you program it to your phone and GPS to give you a jolt if you don't make it to 10,000 steps that day.

To stop smoking or stop to those late night snacks you can simply hit the button on the wristband every time you partake in the bad habit and you will get the jolt. After a few days your brain is trained to stay away from the habit because it's associating the shock with it.

Sounds a little too "Clockwork Orange"-ish to me. But it seems to work. One guy in the video below stopped his late night potato chip binges with this technique. Hmm, the more I think about this the more I think that maybe my "bad habits" really aren't that bad?
