Bret Bielema Hires First Assistant at Arkansas

New Razorback Head Coach Bret Bielema is bringing at least one assistant with him from Wisconsin. Defensive coordinator Chris Ash will join the Razorbacks after the Badgers Rose Bowl appearance in January.

Ash has served as defensive coordinator for the Badgers for the last two seasons and helped lead Wisconsin to three straight Rose Bowl appearances. His defenses were consistently in the top 25 in several major defensive categories including three-and-out percentage, scoring defense, third down conversion defense, sacks, rush defense, pass efficiency defense and pass defense.

The 39 year old Ash has been coaching since 1996. Prior to his stint at Wisconsin, he coached at Iowa State, San Diego State and Drake College.

Let's all hope Coach Ash can help turn around one of the SEC's worst defenses!
