Brett Eldredge has made a habit of testing out new songs on his live audiences while on tour recently, and a recent stop in Nashville was no different. Readers can press play above to watch Eldredge give his Music City crowd a sneak peek at his new song "Castaway."

Eldredge performed one verse of Train's hit "Drops of Jupiter," then launched into the swoon-worthy "Castaway." The singer says the unreleased song is about how he relates to love.

“Since we are in the home of the best songwriters in the world, and songs come from the heart, I want to sing you guys a song true from my heart," Eldredge told the crowd. "This is kind of my message, my relationship with love."

The wistful lyrics of "Castaway" find Eldredge musing, "So why do I always try to run away from you? / Please don’t say a castaway is what I was born to do / I guess I’ll always be lost without you ..."

Eldredge was in Nashville for the kickoff of Luke Bryan's Huntin', Fishin' and Lovin' Every Day Tour, on which he is a special guest. During his previous tour with Bryan, Eldredge introduced audiences to the swagger of another new tune, "Superhero," as well as the love song "Long Way Around" and the peppy, upbeat "Sure Feels Good to Love Someone."

Eldredge's current single is "Somethin' I'm Good At." His third album is set for release later this year.
