They say hindsight is 20-20, but Carrie Underwood believed in these songs from the very beginning.

When you think of some of your favorite Carrie Underwood songs throughout the years, which come to mind first? Is it "Jesus Take the Wheel" or "Something in the Water"? Those are definitely some of mine. Well, what if I told you those two songs almost never happened?

You'd be pretty crushed.

According to The Bert Show, Carrie had to convince quite a few people to let her release both of those songs. The songs have very strong Christian messages and it sounds like the executives were afraid they would be too polarizing for her audience.

I think they did the complete opposite.

I'm a firm believer that she is loved even more for putting those songs out. As an artist, you are always selling yourself to radio, fans, etc. However, Carrie made it very clear with these songs that the message is so much bigger than all of that.
