It's never too early to start planning for the next school year.

On Tuesday, April 1, Texas Middle School (TMS) will hold their Career Academies Orientation for students entering the 6th grade during the 2014-15 school year.

The orientation will allow parents and students to visit with TMS Faculty, and receive student Choice Sheets for the upcoming year. Participants will hear more about the Career Academies program which allows students the opportunity to explore, investigate and pursue his or her interests and aptitudes.  Academy choices include Innovation, Design & Exploration of the Arts (IDEAs) and Science, Technology, Engineering & Math (STEM).

The Career Academies program offers students not only the essential academic elements but also an additional rigorous and innovative curriculum.  This curriculum opens a student’s mind to the relevancy of how high standards relate to high school and career success.

The event will be from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. in the John Thomas Theatre of the Sullivan Performing Arts Center, 3941 Summerhill Road.

Parent/Guardians with 5th grade students currently enrolled in Highland Park Elementary, Morriss Elementary, Nash Elementary, Spring Lake Park Elementary, Wake Village Elementary and Westlawn Elementary School are encouraged to attend.
