Three new movies make it to theaters this weekend. Lots of drama and action to be expected in the true to life story based on former Navy Seal Marcus Lutrell  "Lone Survivor" starring Mark Wahlberg in the lead role. Had a chance to see and hear Lutrell's inspiring story of courage and heroism a couple of years ago. Can't wait to see this movie! Also, half-man half-god "The Legend of Hercules" will be slamming into theaters as well. Finally, a story of a man who falls in love with a computer operating system "Her." Sounds a little bizarre.

‘Frozen’ Review

Sometimes great artistry comes from coloring inside the lines. Walt Disney Animation's newest film, 'Frozen,' does precious little to push the boundaries of narrative storytelling. Indeed, it is a quite predictable – might I even suggest formulaic - culmination of elements. While picking over the bones of a half-remembered Hans Christian Andersen story, 'The Snow Queen,' Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck's film expands certain themes, disposes of some characters and, of course, modernizes a bit for contemporary audiences. However, miraculously, this doesn't feel like a Xerox of a Xerox impersonating a classic Disney film. There's precious little winking; hardly any of the 'Shrek'-effect. 'Frozen' has enough of the goods to play it straight and succeed on its own terms. It is a major entry in family-friendly entertainment, one that ought to reverberate for years with tie-in toys and stage productions.

Thanksgiving Day is only a few days away so why not take mom out of the kitchen for a movie. Two new movies hit the theaters this past weekend including the long awaited 'Hunger Games: Catching Fire' which is the # 1 movie.  Also Vince Vaughn is back on the big screen in 'Delivery Man' about a man who discovers he is the biological father to more than 500 kids. No secret Hunger Games set some new records. Can you say Katniss?  See ya at the movies.

This weekend the first big blockbuster of the holiday season is being released. The much anticipated franchise series Thor:The Dark World should hammer the competition with it's tale of good vs evil starring Chris Hemsworth. If time travel is your thing you may want to check out "About Time" starring Rachel McAdams. This movie is reminiscent of "The Notebook." My choice Thor. See you at the movies!

This fall weekend at the movies is packing a punch. If you like action there are two new movies that will leave you sitting on the edge of your seat. First, rough and tough action stars Danny Trejo in the Robert Rodriguez sequel "Machete Kills." The other movie "Captain Phillips" is based on true events that occurred in 2009 when Somali pirates attempted to take over the U.S. cargo ship Maersk Alabama. The movie stars Tom Hanks as the ships captain who is not willing to give in to the pirate Muse. This sound like a good one... Enjoy the movies!
