Unfortunatley, I lost my mother back in 2007 but I still remember the countless hours she would spend in the kitchen making tamales for my family and friends. It was a recipe handed down from my grandfather. And to this day, I haven't ever tasted a tamale that even comes close to my mom's. So with all the celebrations going on nationwide I thought I would put together a little history lesson about Cinco de Mayo.
