Overton Brooks VA Medical Center (OBVAMC) of Shreveport will host a Town Hall and outreach event on Thursday, Sept. 22, 2016 from 5-6PM, at the Holiday Inn Arkansas Convention Center, Magnolia Room, 5200 Convention Plaza Drive, Texarkana.

The Greater Texarkana Young Professionals will host a "What's Next" informational event in the conference room of the Professional Office Building at Christus St. Michael hospital on Thursday at 6PM.

A Run To Remember 5K will be Saturday at 8:30AM at The Texarkana Golf Ranch located at  7401 University Ave, Texarkana, Texas. Race registration is from 7:30-8:15AM.

Arkansas High School Principal Eva Nadeau recently received the Donna Reed Award for Administrators by the Arkansas Council for Exceptional Children (AR-CEC). The award was established for the purpose of recognizing individuals who in their performance of administrative duties serve or promote the welfare of persons with disabilities.

Texas A&M Forest Service awarded a $100,000 grant for the purchase of a new brush truck to Simms District Volunteer Fire Department through the Rural Volunteer Fire Department Assistance Program.
