The Boy Scouts of America Order of the Arrow Lodge 232 in Texarkana played host to the Texas Connection Southern Indian singing/drumming group out of Houston, Texas at their first ever Fall Fellowship this past weekend at Camp Preston Hunt...
Like I said in the article yesterday, this is "the plane that started my love for aviation." I do mean that literally, this is THE plane that I flew in 30 years ago next month at the Wings Over Houston Press Show in 1986. The Press Show is the mini show they put on for members of the press several days before the public show.
It has been several years since an emergency service project has been attempted in the Boy Scouts of America Caddo Area Council, but this past weekend turned out to be almost perfect for a mock tornado to touch down at Camp Preston Hunt, with approximately 85 Scouts ranging in ages from 11-17 taking part in this emergency disaster drill...
Back in June we had the discussion on-air about our favorite "full breakfast," in other words, not a fast food breakfast, but a sit-down, cooked after you order it, brought to you by a server full breakfast. Well, the results are in.
We're up to week #3 of the quarter finals on America's Got Talent on NBC. Last night the competition was intense but using my keen eye for talent (cough) I think I have the field narrowed down to who will make it through to the next round.
If you can then you’re probably about as old as me.
A guy I have known since my early days of DJ’ing, before my radio career started (we’re talking a club gig in Houston back in the mid-80’s called “Fools Gold”), posted this video on his Facebook page today and it brought back some terrific memories.
I love America's Got Talent on NBC. It's the only talent-type show I watch. Never got into American Idol or The Voice or a host of other singing talent shows. Because that's all it is, singing. While I appreciate a great singer, there are bazillions of them, everywhere you go. AGT gives us a variety of talented acts and makes it much more fun to watch.
