The Farmers Almanac just recently came out with their 2021-2022 extended winter forecast. Last winter's big snowstorms were unlike anything we've had in a very long time.
The area outlook from the National Weather Service is showing that this nice little respite of cooler temps and rain we had here in the middle of August is over as of today. In fact, this afternoon's heat index is projected to be 103 but the temperature is only supposed to reach 89 today.
The National Weather Service has added a new category to 'Thunderstorms'. They aren't just 'Severe Thunderstorms' anymore. Plus, we will get alerts about them on our mobile phones starting next week on Wednesday, July 28.
