The City of Texarkana, Texas is considering a city ordinance that would allow the city to tow and impound vehicles if a motorist can not produce proof of insurance if stopped by police for a traffic violation. Good idea? Bad idea?

Personally, my first thought was Oh NO! Bad idea. But, the more I think about it...I think it's a great idea! Now a days, the police can check quickly with their computers in their cars or by smart phone for your proof of insurance! Maybe this ordinance will make people think and get insurance! If you've ever been hit by an uninsured motorist then you know how frustrating that can be!

You can see the entire ordinance that was on the city council agenda last night at TXKToday.com

A public hearing will take place next month.
