Six local groups are working together to get the downtown planters filled as part of the continued work to revitalize historic downtown Texarkana.Ina McDowell, executive director of Main Street Texarkana, says the planting which was postponed last Saturday will occur today (Wednesday March 26) at 2 p.m. in downtown Texarkana.

Both cities, along with Main Street Texarkana, Keep Texarkana Beautfiul, and the City Beautiful Commission will plant and maintain 23 planters along Broad Street. Main Street Texarkana has purchased the plants and Freeman Landscape is working with the groups to assist in the initial planting.

Plants selected include: Cordyline, "Silver Falls' Dicondra, and seasonal colors as Coleus and Vinca for spring. Dusty Miller and Pansies for the fall.
