The City of Texarkana, Texas Parks and Recreation Department asks for your help in reducing vandalism to parks and recreational facilities throughout the city. More than $5,000 worth of damage has been done in the past year.

Texarkana Parks and Recreation Director Robby Robertson will work with Texarkana Texas police to increase patrols and concentrate more on the parks who have been targeted.

“Vandalism and reckless misuse have always been an issue for our department,” Robertson said, “but lately we’ve seen an increase in property damage and loss as a result of vandalism. Most of our parks close at 10:00 p.m. and more often than not, when that curfew is broken, we see a rise in destruction of property and amenities. We need everyone’s help to ensure that our parks are kept nice and pristine for all to enjoy.”

The Texarkana, Texas Police Department will more strictly enforce the curfews of the parks, and will increase patrols to encourage proper use of the facility.
