The City of Texarkana, Texas will observe National Public Health Week Monday, April 6th through Friday, April 10th.In particular, Texarkana Bowie County Family Health Center will celebrate National Public Health Week this week to raise awareness among the community regarding services provided. In 2014, the clinic saw a total of 9,981 patients.

The clinic is open Monday through Thursday from 7 a.m. – 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. – 6 p.m., according to Kelly Brush, the clinic’s administrative manager.

“We have a ton of services available to our community, all of which are confidential and reasonably priced, if not free,” Brush said.

The health clinic offers reproductive health and family planning, community outreach regarding diabetes, information about the WIC nutritional program, and immunizations for both children and adults.

“We will celebrate National Public Health Week Monday through Thursday, April 6-9th, and we have some special surprises for everyone that comes to see us,” Brush said.

Texas Vaccines for Children Program for ages two months through 18 years for those meeting eligibility as follows:

  • No insurance
  • Insured, but plan does not pay for vaccines or has limited coverage
  • Texas Medicaid (no office visit fee)
  • American Indian or Alaskan native

The office visit fee is $12 per child (may be waived under certain circumstances. Please inform nurse at time of service)
