If you're steeped into the traditional country music sound you're going to love Texas singer/songwriter Cody Jinks in concert at the Electric Cowboy on Friday, August 26.

Reminiscent of outlaws Waylon and Willie, Cody sports long hair and a beard and his musical style cuts right through your heart and soul. In fact, some of his musical heroes are Waylon Jennings, Johnny Cash and Merle Haggard. The reigning Saving Country Music Song of the Year winner has a lot to prove with his new album I'm Not The Devil, featuring the single "Chase That Song," which is about a band that doesn't slow down, fitting for him when he's out on the road. The album is full of traditional country, plenty of steel guitar and ballads on life and love.

Coming from a heavy metal past the title of the album I'm Not The Devil is a dark song about a man battling with his inner demons, mistakes he made in his life and hurting the one person he loved with his actions. He vows to change his ways saying I'm not the devil just a man who made mistakes, but knows that's not an excuse for the things he's done.

Some people compare his musical style and looks to Nashville great Chris Stapleton but you can be rest assured that when Cody Jinks hits the stage you're going to get nothing but straight on pure country music that way it was intended to be. So pull up a bar stool and have a cold one this Friday night at the Electric Cowboy.
