Like his co-star Gary Coleman before him, Conrad Bain, one of TV's most beloved icons, has sadly passed on. The long-time star of legendary TV sitcom 'Diff'rent Strokes' is reported to have died this week of unknown causes at the age of 89. No details of Bain's death have been released to the public as of yet.

'Diff'rent Strokes' fans and admirers of actor Conrad Bain's body of work have reason to grieve today, as TMZ reports that the '80s sitcom star died Monday in Livermore, California, of as-yet-unreleased causes. Bain is survived by his three sons and one daughter, the latter of which told reporters, "He was an amazing person. He was a lot like Mr. Drummond, but much more interesting in real life. He was an amazing father."

Known mostly for his father figure role Phillip Drummond, Bain portrayed this 'Diff'rent Strokes' character from 1978-1986 on both NBC and ABC, later reprising the role for both 'The Facts of Life' and the series finale of Will Smith's 'The Fresh Prince of Bel Air.' He was also well known for his role as Dr. Arthur Harmon of 'Maude.'

We'll certainly miss Conrad Bain, so feel free to leave your respects and memories of such a beloved TV star in the comments.
