Some of the brightest talents in country music came together on Monday night (July 9) in Music City for a very special tribute to southern rock icons Lynyrd Skynyrd. Click play on the video above to watch Charlie Worsham, Brothers Osborne guitarist John Osborne and more as they tear up the stage with an incendiary cover of Skynyrd’s all-time classic, “Free Bird.”

Worsham performs a weekly residency every Monday night at the Basement East in Nashville that he calls Every Damn Monday, and the singer-songwriter and guitarist put together a special Lynryd Skynyrd Nite on Monday, calling on his celebrity friends to round out the bill. Artists including Randy Houser, 400 Unit guitarist Sadler Vaden, A Thousand Horses singer Michael Hobby and more were on hand to pay tribute to the legacy of the rockers, whose influence extends well beyond rock music and into country.

Click on the video above to watch Vaden, Worsham and Brothers Osborne guitarist John Osborne highlight the show-closing jam on “Free Bird,” which brought all of the performers from the more than 80-minute show back to the stage to lead an audience sing-along. Osborne and Worsham are former bandmates in a group called KillBilly, and along with Vaden, they re-create the high octane guitar solos at the end of the song with a mix of technical precision and jaw-dropping intensity.

Skynyrd are currently on the road for what they are billing as their farewell tour, and as Rolling Stone Country reports, some of the current touring side musicians from Skynyrd turned up at the show on Monday night, including backing vocalist Carol Chase and keyboardist Peter Keys, who sat in on “Call Me the Breeze.”
