Craig Morgan is a hero and now he has an award to prove it!

He received an honor last Saturday night for personal bravery.

News Channel 5 in Nashville reported that members of the Tennessee City Volunteer Fire Department paid tribute to Morgan backstage at the Grand Ole Opry on Saturday night.

They recognized him for the role he played in saving the lives of two small children.  He rescued them from a burning home last month in Charlotte, Tennessee.

The firefighters gave Morgan an award, as well as an honorary lifetime membership to the Fire Department.  He also received his own helmet.

Morgan released a statement that said: "I'm humbled by this kind recognition from the Tennessee City Volunteer Fire Department and the National Volunteer Fire Council.  They are the real hometown heroes."
