The Texaco Country Showdown, America’s largest country music talent show, is heading to Texarkana and Kicker 102.5 is hosting it! The 2012 event will be held Monday, Sept. 17 and Thursday, Sept. 20 at the Four States Fair Amphitheater during the Four States Fair & Rodeo.

For over 30 years, the Texaco Country Showdown has supported live country music while offering new country music talent across America the chance to launch their music careers.

Garth Brooks, Sara Evans, Martina McBride, LeAnn Rimes, Billy Ray Cyrus, Brad Paisley and many others got their start on country music’s largest talent contest.

This huge talent contest is open to amateurs from all over the Ark-La-Tex. Will you become the next  Texaco Country Showdown star?

Here's how to enter the contest.

Open to vocal and/or instrumental performers, the Texaco Country Showdown welcomes individual acts or groups with up to seven members to compete. All entries must be accompanied by an audition tape or CD.

How Will the Winner Be Selected?

The first night, a panel of impartial judges will narrow down the entries to 10. Those finalists will perform at the Fair Amphitheater in front of a packed house the second night.

The local winner then goes to the state competitions, the state’s winners go to regionals, and those winners head to the National Finals in Nashville for a chance to win the $100,000 grand prize.
