Do you like eating Crawfish? Well, you don't have to drive to Louisiana for a crawfish feast. Mark your calendars for the "Downtown Arkadelphia Crawfest" this Friday and Saturday, April 29-30, 2016.

This event will take place at 605 Main Street from 5-10PM. There will plenty of great food, live music, vendors, family games and some of the best crawfish eating going on in the state. The crawfish-eating competition is Friday evening featuring the 2015 Champ Afton Oelmann as the emcee.

"This year there will be authentic Cajun Crawfish cooked up by a company out of Louisiana instead of local volunteers," said, Ashlee Vaughan, Director of Administration and Events with the Arkadelphia Alliance and Chamber.

If you're not into Crawfish, Ashlee said, there will be plenty options like burgers, tacos, home-cooked food, and plenty of desserts and other treats as well. Something for everyone!

Friday evening kicks off the Fest with country duo Dixie Jade in concert at 6PM on Clinton Street next to Slim & Shorty's.

Don't miss being a part of the Andy Allison Super Kids Fun Run at 10:30AM Saturday on Main Street. This run is named in honor of Andy Allison, a local man who was killed in an ATV accident around 25 years ago.

Admission is free. For more information please call 870-246-5542 or visit their Facebook page.  (In case of rain the event will be moved to the Arkadelphia Recreation Center.
