The Dusty Rose Band is one of Texarkana's favorite hometown bands and they will be performing at the annual Cinco de Mayo party at El Chico this Friday night at 8PM.

Last night I had a chance to spend some time with Jason Springer the lead singer/songwriter with the band. We had a little get together dinner meeting with El Chico management about what's planned for the Friday fiesta in the parking lot. First off let me make it loud and clear there will be no charge for the musical event and festivities for people who choose to dine at the restaurant that evening. These patrons will all be given wristbands to enjoy all the festivities outdoors.

If you don't eat at the restaurant and you want to enjoy all the outdoor activities including the concert there is a $5 cover charge with kids 12 and younger getting in free, according to El Chico management.

Besides the band there will be face painting, a photo booth, cotton candy, inflatable slide and beer trucks set up in the parking lot.

I had a chance to talk with Jason about what the band has been up to lately. As always they have been really busy playing shows not only in Texarkana but all around the Ark-La-Tex. "We have a new song "Believe" coming out, we've been doing a song called "Honky Tonk" that's already out." We have one "Same Ol', Same Ol', one called "It Ain't Country," "Hard Living" and got a new one coming out "Friday Night," it's a Friday night, get right song. It's not quite ready yet, but we're getting there," said Springer.

For more on the interview please watch the video.

As always, Springer promises an upbeat fun show with music from every genre, including some Texas Country mixed in for flavor.

"We're gonna have a good time so come see us."
