Early voting has begun for two area political races.In Southwest Arkansas, early voting is underway in the 4th District Democratic Congressional Runoff between State Senator Gene Jeffress and Hot Springs Attorney Q. Byrum Hurst. The winner will take on Republican Tom Cotton in the Fall General election, to succeed the retiring Mike Ross.

Meanwhile in Texarkana, Texas early voting is underway in the Texarkana College Board of Trustees Place two special election. The extra vote between incumbent Julie Ray Harrison and challenger Jean Cotton became necessary after a recount of the May initial vote saw the two tied with 700 votes a piece.

Those wanting to cast early ballots in the College race can do so weekdays 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Texarkana College Administration Building through June 12th.
