The Federal Aviation Administration approved the use of portable electronic devices gate to gate by passengers.Tuesday, Nov. 5, the updated policy went into effect for Fort-Worth based American Airlines.  American Eagle,  which flies out of the Texarkana Regional Airport, American Airlines and AmericanConnection are all part of AMR Corporation that will put this change into effect.

According to ABCNews, "Airlines were required to submit plans to the FAA on their implementation of the new policy." Cell phones are still banned during flights and all laptops must be stowed during taxi on the runway. Therefore, these devices are not part of the new change in policy.
